Pray

You often hear people say “The last thing that you can do is pray” But really prayer is the most you can do, and the first thing you should do.

If God is in charge of all things, and with God all things are possible! Then shouldn’t we come to him in prayer. It is foolish and prideful to think that you are more powerful than God the Almighty

“Pray without ceasing.”  1 Thessalonians 5:17

Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.  Hebrews 4:16

Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:  Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.  Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.  But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.  To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.  1 Peter 5:6-11

  1. This is a topic dear to my heart. Pride is perhaps the most destructive of all human flaws. Simply because it can be found at the root of most other flaws. Pride separates us from our friends, our loved ones, and most tragically from God. I talk about pride and about prayer as a last resort in several of my blog posts simply because they are such insidious problems for us as humans. Prayer, of course, should be our first instinct in any situation, good or bad. It should then be our next step and the next and next. However, when we are full of pride we don’t even consider prayer; on the contrary, we are well equipped to solve the problem. Or so we think until everything crashes down around us. It is usually then that humility finally kicks in and we say, “Well, all that’s left now is prayer.”
